All the four legged creatures in the house have their favorite napping spots. Occasionally, one of them will switch things up, but for the most part each one of them sticks to their tried and tested napping spot.
The cat’s favorite place to sleep is in a wicker basket on my desk. She loves that basket and has even started sleeping in it when I am not in my office, which is extremely rare for her because she always likes to be in the same room as someone in the house.
The other day, Benjamin was sitting in my lap while I was working at my desk. The cat was prowling around the house and her desktop basket was vacant. In the blink of an eye, Benjamin leaped from my lap onto my desk and into the cat’s basket. In a matter of seconds he settled and was ready to take a nap while I typed away at my desk. The first thing I did was look for the cat. If she saw Benjamin in her basket she would have a fit. She couldn’t stand to have pug fur in her basket! As luck would have it, I had another wicker basket. I quickly grabbed it out of the closest and sat it on my desk next to the cat’s basket. With a little coaxing, Benjamin made himself comfortable in his very own basket and while the cat wasn’t looking I brushed all of the dog germs out of her basket. So now I have two wicker baskets on my desk. Needless to say things sure are getting a little cramped.
I’m not really sure why, but Benjamin really likes to emulate whatever the cat does. It is really sweet, but it drives the cat nuts. She isn’t really interested in having a pug follow her around all day and nap in favorite sleeping spots.

Benjamin and Luna just love to cuddle with Henry. Henry rarely naps alone because either Benjamin or Luna or both of them is snuggled up next to him. Before we adopted Luna I just assumed that Benjamin always cuddled up with Henry because he was the only other pug. But it has been interesting to see how Luna has bonded with him and how she seeks him out if there is no human lap available.
I think both Benjamin and Luna like to snuggle up to Henry because he is the largest of the three. Also, he lays very still. He doesn’t fidget and when he makes himself comfortable he is usually in that position for quite some time. Also, it doesn’t bother him to have others laying on him. You could pile anything on him and as long as he is comfortable he isn’t going to budge.
Way back, before adopting a third was even a thought, I snapped this picture of Benjamin and Henry napping. As you can see, Benjamin is laying completely on top of Henry and Henry isn’t the least bit concerned.

Not Guilty. That was the plea that Benjamin entered the other morning when he was accused of stealing Cheerios out of my cereal bowl. The only problem the pug faced was that there were witnesses that saw the little pug hop up on the kitchen chair and proceed to fill his chubby little cheeks with as many Cheerios as possible before someone realized what he was up to.
Sorry, Baby Benny, you were totally busted! If your lucky and your play your cards right maybe we can work out some kind of plea bargain.

This is not a very flattering picture of little Luna, but I had to post it anyway. If you rub Luna on both her shoulder blades at the same time she will make this face for you. This face always cracks me up and I often wonder how something could look so cute sometimes and then could look like this. The more I get to know her, the more I realize that this pug is just crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I guess that is why she fits in so well around here!

This weekend I took a quick trip to go visit my parents. Since it was such a short trip the pugs did not come with me. However, when I got home they did give me a nice big welcome. However, I'm not sure if they were happy to see me or my suitcase. See, I make these trips many times a year and by now they know that Grandma doesn't let me leave until she has loaded my suitcase with treats. So as soon as I get home they head straight for my suitcase and start looking around for treats.
Here Benjamin is asking, "So where did you hide them this time?"

Before Luna’s adoption was final, we excitedly went shopping and bought a few things that we felt every pug needed to have. One of the things we picked up on our shopping trip was a Kong. Ever since the boys were puppies we have been giving them Kongs filled with peanut butter. They go nuts over them and they are a great treat that take a little bit more time to eat, so if we ever want to keep them occupied we bring out the Kongs.
We have had Luna for a little over 5 months and I realized the other night that she has yet to have a peanut butter filled Kong. So, we dug out the Kongs and filled them up and gave everyone a special treat. The boys were excited to get one of their favorite treats and Luna was just delighted with her Kong. At first she wasn’t sure how to keep it from rolling around so she was chasing it all around the house. But after a minute or two she figured things out and she went to town licking all the peanut butter from the inside. I really think she enjoyed it!

In his latest attempt to become more human, Henry has begun using the arm rests on the lounge chair. The next time I go outside I expect to find him fully reclined on the chair, laying on his back just like a human sunbather. The boy sure knows how to make himself comfortable.
